This user guide is intended for use with the Partner Software Enterprise-based Field Design Web Application. This application is intended for Partner Software staff, administration, clients, and employees. The steps outlined below are also included in the “About Widget” within the Web Mapping Application.
- Accessing the application
- Application URL- Partner Software Enterprise Field Design Web Application
- The application is located inthe PartnerSoftware AGOL Group Folder as well
- To Copy Existing Features– Use Smart Editor Widget.
- Select Feature Type you want to Copy
- Navigate to bottom of Smart Editor Interface
- Select “Features to Copy”
- Edit Attribute Data and Edit Geometry (Location)
- Save
- To Create New Features– Use Edit Widget
- Select a feature template to create new features or filter by layer type to select template.
- Add new feature to Map.
- Rule of thumb for staking-
- Job Info Points do not have to be connected to any other feature
- Locations are typically connected to at least one Span line
- Locations can have any number of related Units
- Rule of thumb for staking-
- Use Preset Domain/Subtype fields to automate attribute information editing or populating.
- Line Lengths can be calculated using the Distance and Direction Widget
- Select “Line”
- Add Start Point
- Check “Generate Line Interactively”
- Use “Ctrl” key to snap points to Locations or Span end point
- Copy Measurement figure and use Edit Widget to update a newly created Span’s “Length” field with copied value
- The Geoprocessing Widget is intended for adding new Job files to the Enterprise Geodatabase.
- Open Geoprocessing Widget
- Select input feature
- Default files exported from Current Partner Software Field Design Program (JobInfo, Locations, Spanlines shapefiles, and one Units CSV file)
- These are shapefiles and a csv file representing units.
- Because a user may not have these files available, Additional test job components have been added to the web application. Users without access to Partner Software export data can use these default files to import a test Staking job and explore Geoprocessing Widget functionality.
- Click Execute
- Examine and Edit Results
- To Export Features
- Use Select Widget
- Select by Rectangle, Polygon, Point, Etc.
- Select all desired features
- Once features are selected, click on three small dots beside each layer name and select one of the following options
- Export to CSV File
- Export to Feature Collection
- Export to GeoJSON
- To Add Data to the Web Application
- Use the Add Data Widget
- Select “Search”, “URL”, or “File”
- Search allows users to input ArcGIS Online Files and Layers
- URL allows users to input the URL of an ArcGIS Server Web Service
- File allows users to upload files from their local computer
- To Change the Subtype of a Location Feature
- Use Batch Attribute Editor Widget
- Select by Layer or Select by Area to Select desired Location Features.
- Once selected, a pop-up dialog appears and prompts user to change the Location Type field and/or the Location Subtype Field.

- The options for Location Subtype are either 1-Station or 2-Location
